This song is about a trip I'd like to take one day. I call it the 'St. Lawrence Seaway Trip'. I'd like to take the Bark River, (in Delafield, WI) to the Mississippi River, pick up a sailboat, sail down the Miss. River, out the Golf of Mexico, around Florida, past Maine into the Gulf of St. Lawrence and into the St. Lawrence Seaway, back through the Great Lakes to Milwaukee. I wanted to do this summer of 2015, but our move to Colorado has put these plans on hold. One day I will do this trip.
lyrics
-------------------------------------
My feet have gone as far as this trail goes
My boat has traveled through the winding river bends
I need to sell my vessel somewhere upon the shore
So I can find ship to sail
To help me find a crew to sail
Sandy toes, salty breath
Oceans waves set free
Calloused hands, windy hair
Sailboat's on the edge
We are going fast and making time
The water's getting deep
See the sun it comes, the sun it goes
The days turn into weeks
When we get home, I will find my friends
And I will tell them, all about my travels
We will head west and stay there for a while
Ooooo
Rocky crag, barmy tree
Creatures on the limb
Mossy rock, grassy knoll
Rabbits on the run
See the mountain side, the sulfur springs
The figures in the sky
See the moon it comes, the moon it goes
HIS majesty on display
Sandy toes, salty breath
Oceans waves set free
Calloused hands, windy hair
Sailboat's on the edge
We are going fast and making time
The water's getting deep
See the sun it comes, the sun it goes
The days turn into weeks
