Owl's are the embodiment of wisdom in many minds, including mine. An owl flew up onto my balcony in Florida whilst writing this song in 2007, and stayed there for about ten minutes. The song is partly about that experience, and partly speaking to our relationship with God. Sometimes we want to USE God for the things that we want rather than fully surrendering ourselves to Him. When I do this, I end up being confused and feeling tossed around in the whirlwind of life. Sooner or later I realize I'm trying to BE God instead of FOLLOW God, and once I see His side and I see He's right, my life tends to fall back in to peace and the calamity subsides.
